The Full English: A Journey in Search of a Country and its People Book

What kind of country is England today? What does it mean to be English? And are the English hungry for change or seeking old certainties? Join Stuart Maconie as takes his lead from J.B. Priestley's classic travelogue, English Journey, to explore England’s national identity and how it has evolved over the last century. On his way, Stuart seeks insight from the people he meets at bus stops and train stations, cafes and corner shops, and uncovers local heroes and secret histories over early breakfasts and last orders.

Bookspeed: British books and gift titles with Character, Curated for You

Bookspeed has earned affection for British books and gift titles that bring a distinctly British or Irish note to daily life. These are pieces chosen for use as much as display, with texture, colour and practical detail doing most of the talking.

The Heritage of Bookspeed
Built over generations, the reputation of Bookspeed rests on consistency and a recognisable design language. Styles have shifted over time, yet the underlying idea remains: make useful things with enough character to become familiar favourites. That approach still feels relevant.

Signature Pieces from the Range
Featured in the curated range at Best of British NBPT, the Ancient Britain for Modern Folk brings the brand’s point of view into focus. Ancient Britain for Modern Folk has tactile, gift-ready appeal, while the illustrated British culture book offers a second expression of the same character—something to hold, wear, pour from or place where it can be enjoyed often. Both are carefully selected for quality and style; Best of British NBPT does not make or design them.

Why Bookspeed Resonates with Shoppers
There is warmth in choosing Bookspeed: the British books and gift titles feel connected to craft, place and everyday ritual. They suit milestone gifts, small thank-yous and personal treats without needing a grand occasion. Picture a handsome hardback waiting on the coffee table, and the attraction becomes quite clear.
